My wishlist in customer accounts

Plan: every plan, including Free. Creating lists needs Pro or Premium; turning on a share link needs Starter and up.

Cove adds a My wishlist page to Shopify’s customer accounts, so signed-in customers find their saved items next to their orders and profile. To add it to your customer account menu, see Add the account page.

The page shows what the customer saved on the storefront, from any device. Guests don’t have one: their saves move into their account when they sign in (see Guest wishlists).

At the top: the heading My wishlist and the item count, for example “3 items”.

When the customer has more than one list, a switcher sits above the items:

  • Up to 4 lists: one button per list, the open one highlighted.
  • 5 lists or more: a single drop-down.

Long list names are shortened in the switcher. The page opens on the customer’s default list, the one their one-tap saves go to.

Each saved item shows:

  • the product image and title, linked to the product page on your store,
  • vendor, variant, price (with “From” when the variants’ prices differ) and compare-at price, each if turned on (see Layout and fields),
  • an Add to cart button,
  • a More actions menu (the “…” button) with Move to another list (when there are several lists) and Remove.

Prices, images and stock are live, in the customer’s currency and language.

Add to cart opens your store’s cart page with the item added. If the item was saved without a variant and the product has several, the button reads Choose options and opens the product page instead. A sold-out item shows a disabled Sold out button. A product you have deleted or unpublished shows as No longer available; it can still be removed.

The page shows 50 items at a time, with Show more below.

Remove takes the item off the list on show, and a message confirms “Removed from your wishlist”. Move to another list opens a dialog to pick the list; the message confirms “Moved to …”.

Share this list (top of the page) opens the share dialog. On Starter and up, opening it turns sharing on straight away and shows the link, with:

  • Email, which opens the customer’s mail app with the link,
  • Get a new link, which replaces the link (the old one stops working),
  • Turn off sharing, which pauses the link. Turning sharing back on brings the same link back.

The link opens the shared list page on your storefront. Below Starter, Share only shows for a list whose link is still live, so the customer can turn it off. More in Lists and sharing.

Manage lists (top of the page) opens a dialog to:

  • rename the open list (List name, Save name),
  • create a new list (Pro and Premium; it shows how many of the 20 lists are used),
  • delete the open list, when it isn’t the customer’s only one. A confirmation says how many saved items go with it, and that it can’t be undone.

Manage lists shows when the customer has several lists, or when your plan lets them create one.

With nothing saved: Your wishlist is empty, a short line, and a Continue shopping button to your store.

If the customer tries something the plan doesn’t include, they see “This isn’t available on this store’s plan.” Lists a customer already has always keep working after a downgrade.

Set in the Design Studio under Labels, section My wishlist in customer accounts:

Setting Options Default
Layout Grid, List Grid
Price On / off On
Compare-at price On / off On
Vendor On / off Off
Variant On / off On
Add to cart button On / off On

Grid shows two columns, three on wider screens; List shows one item per row with a thumbnail. Colours and fonts on this page follow your customer accounts branding in Shopify, not Cove’s design.

The page is translated into English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch, and follows the customer’s account language. Its texts can’t be edited. See Languages.

The page knows the customer only from Shopify’s signed customer account session. Product details come straight from your store; Cove sends only the saved product and variant IDs.
