The message after a save

Plan: every plan, including Free. The Change button appears when the shopper has more than one list, or on Pro and Premium.

Every save or removal from the Wishlist button, a card heart or the heart over the image shows a short message (a “toast”) on the page.

After Message (English default) Buttons
A save Saved to your wishlist View wishlist, Undo, Change
A removal Removed from your wishlist View wishlist, Undo
An error Couldn’t update your wishlist. Please try again. none

View wishlist opens the wishlist page, or the page you set as Wishlist page URL in the app embed (see Wishlist link).

The texts are translated into six languages and can be changed in Design › Labels. The message’s position (bottom center, bottom right or top center) and how long it shows (1–8 seconds, default 3) are set in Design › Cards. Until you save a design, the theme editor’s Notice duration setting in the app embed is used instead.

Undo puts things back exactly as they were:

  • Undoing a save removes the item again, from every list.
  • Undoing a removal brings back exactly what that removal took: the same saved items, in the same lists, with the variant, note, saved price and saved date they had. If removing a product also took a product-level save or other variants of it, those come back too. Undo never changes which list is the shopper’s default.

A removed item can be brought back this way for 10 minutes. The same applies when a shopper taps a heart off and on again within 10 minutes: the original save comes back rather than a new one.

Bringing an item back uses no wishlist action, so Undo still works when your store has reached its monthly limit. See Wishlist actions.

On a save, Change opens a small panel titled “Save to list”, with a tick box for each of the shopper’s lists:

  • Ticking a list saves the item there, and makes that list the one future one-tap saves go to.
  • Unticking a list removes the item from that list only.
  • On Pro and Premium, a “New list name” field and Create make a new list and save the item to it.
  • Done closes the panel.

Change only shows when there is a choice to make: the shopper already has more than one list, or your plan includes multiple lists (Pro and up). More in Lists and sharing.

On a save, guests also see Sign in to keep it on every device, a link to your store’s sign-in page, once their wishlist reaches a number of items. Set that number in the theme editor: App embeds › Cove Wishlist › Notices › Ask guests to sign in after (1–10 items, default 3). Signed-in customers never see it.

If you have turned guest wishlists off (Guest wishlists), a guest who taps a heart sees Sign in to save items to your wishlist with a Sign in link, instead of the error message. Nothing is saved.

A new save past your plan’s monthly wishlist actions shows the general error message. Shoppers never see anything about plans or limits. You see a banner in the Cove admin; see Wishlist actions.

  • The message is announced by screen readers but never takes focus, so shoppers aren’t pulled away from what they were doing.
  • After saving with the keyboard, the next Tab moves into the message’s links and buttons.
  • The message stays on screen while focus is inside it. With Undo or Change in it, it shows for at least 6 seconds.
  • Escape, or using one of its buttons, closes it and returns focus to the button that saved.
  • The Change panel is a proper dialog: focus stays inside it, Escape closes it, and focus returns to where it was.
