Install Cove Wishlist
Plan: every plan, including Free.
Cove Wishlist lets shoppers save products to a wishlist from your product pages, collection cards and cart, and come back to them later. This page covers installing the app and what it adds to your store. The pages after it walk you through switching each part on.
Install from the App Store
Section titled “Install from the App Store”- Open Cove Wishlist: Save for Later in the Shopify App Store and click Install.
- Shopify shows the access Cove asks for. Review it and approve the install.
- Cove opens in your Shopify admin on its Home page, with the setup guide at the top.
Cove only asks for read access to your store, plus permission to route /apps/wishlist to the app. It can’t edit your theme, products, orders or customers. The security overview lists every permission and why.
Choose a plan
Section titled “Choose a plan”Cove has four plans: Free, Starter, Pro and Premium. Plans are billed by Shopify (Shopify’s managed pricing), so you pick and change your plan on Shopify’s own plan page, not in a form inside the app.
- Free has no trial and no charge. You can stay on it as long as you like.
- Starter, Pro and Premium each come with a 30-day free trial. The plan continues automatically when the trial ends.
- To change plan, open Plans in Cove’s menu and click Manage plan. Shopify opens its plan page, which lists every plan and price.
- Wishlists are never deleted when you change plan, on any plan.
Each plan includes a number of wishlist actions a month (a shopper adding an item). See plans and pricing for what each plan includes, the monthly action quota for how actions are counted, and changing plans for what happens on an upgrade or downgrade.
What Cove adds to your store
Section titled “What Cove adds to your store”Cove adds four things. None of them edits your theme’s code: you place them yourself in Shopify’s editors, and uninstalling the app removes them all.
| Part | Where you turn it on | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| App embed (“Cove Wishlist”) | Theme editor › App embeds | Loads Cove on every storefront page: hearts on product cards, the wishlist link, the save message and the sign-in prompt for guests. Everything else depends on it. |
| Theme app blocks | Theme editor, in a section | The Wishlist button for the product page, the Wishlist heart (card) for themes whose product cards take app blocks, and Notify me when available for sold-out variants. |
| Wishlist page | Nothing to do | Your store’s wishlist page at /apps/wishlist (Shopify’s app proxy), plus the shared list pages. It uses your theme’s layout. |
| “My wishlist” account page | Checkout and accounts editor | A page inside customer accounts where signed-in customers see and manage their wishlist. |
The look of all of these (icon, colours, labels, button style) is set in Cove’s Design Studio, not in the theme editor.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”Work through these in order. The setup guide on Home ticks most of them off by itself once Shopify reports them on your live theme.
- Turn on the app embed. Nothing shows on your store until you do.
- Add the wishlist button to product pages (and, on some themes, the card heart block).
- Add “My wishlist” to customer accounts.
- Match your brand in the Design Studio.
- Optional: import wishlists from Swym if you’re moving from Swym Wishlist Plus.
The setup guide page explains how each step is checked.
