Lists and sharing
Plan: creating named lists needs Pro or Premium. Share links need Starter and up. Everything else on this page works on every plan.
Every shopper starts with one list, My wishlist. On Pro and Premium they can create more (Birthday, Living room, Gift ideas) and choose where each save goes. On Starter and up they can share any list with a link.
Named lists
Section titled “Named lists”| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Lists per shopper | Up to 20, including My wishlist. |
| Items per list | Up to 500. |
| Names | 1–60 characters, plain text. Extra spaces are collapsed. Two lists can’t share a name (ignoring upper and lower case). |
| Creating a list | Pro and Premium only. |
| Renaming, deleting, moving items | Every plan, for lists the shopper already has. |
Shoppers manage their lists in three places:
- On the wishlist page: Manage lists opens a dialog with List name and Rename for the list on show, New list and Create list (Pro, while under 20 lists), and Delete list.
- In the Change panel of the save message: tick boxes per list, and a field to create one (Pro).
- On the My wishlist page in their customer account (signed-in customers).
The default list
Section titled “The default list”One list is the shopper’s default: where a one-tap save goes (the Wishlist button, a card heart). It starts as My wishlist. Whenever the shopper saves to a list from the Change panel, that list becomes the default, so their next tap lands where they last chose.
Lists always appear in the order they were created; the default doesn’t jump to the front.
Moving items
Section titled “Moving items”On the wishlist page, Move to on a card moves the item to another of the shopper’s lists. An item can also sit on several lists at once: tick more than one box in the Change panel. Tapping a filled heart removes the item from every list.
Deleting a list
Section titled “Deleting a list”- A shopper’s only list can’t be deleted.
- Deleting asks first (“Delete this list and everything in it?”), then removes the list and its items.
- Deleting the default list makes the shopper’s oldest remaining list the default.
Share links
Section titled “Share links”Share this list, on the wishlist page or the account page, gives the list a link anyone can open, like https://yourstore.com/apps/wishlist/s/…. The link is random and can’t be guessed. People who open it see the shared list page: the products, without the owner’s name, the list’s name or notes.
On the wishlist page the share dialog offers:
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Create link | Turns sharing on and shows the link, with Copy link, Email and, on phones, Share…. |
| Pause link | The link stops working for now (“This wishlist isn’t available”). Nothing is lost. |
| Turn the link back on | The same link works again. |
| Get a new link | Asks first, then replaces the link. The old link stops working for everyone who has it. |
| Stop sharing | Asks first, then turns the link off for good. Sharing again makes a new link. |
While a link is paused, the wishlist page says so above the list. On the account page, Turn off sharing pauses the link (the same one comes back when sharing is turned on again).
Creating a link and getting a new link need Starter or up. Pausing and stopping always work, on every plan.
When you change plans
Section titled “When you change plans”Nothing a shopper made is deleted.
- Below Pro: shoppers keep every list they have. They can still rename and delete lists, move items between them and save to them. Only creating a new list is off.
- Below Starter: every share link answers “This wishlist isn’t available”, whatever its state. The links are kept, so when you move back to Starter or up, the same links work again. Shoppers can still pause or stop a link.
When a guest signs in, their lists move into their account; on Pro and Premium the list names are kept. See Guest wishlists.
See Changing plans for everything else that changes with a plan.
