Wishlist reminders
Plan: Starter and up. Off until you turn it on.
A wishlist reminder is a gentle email about items a customer saved a while ago and hasn’t bought, with up to four of them and their current prices. Set it up on Alerts › Reminders.
Who gets a reminder
Section titled “Who gets a reminder”- Signed-in customers only. Guests never get reminders; an address a guest gave for a Notify me request is never reused.
- Only customers subscribed to email marketing in Shopify, checked each time a reminder is about to go out.
- Never a customer who unsubscribed from your Cove emails, and never an address that bounced or was marked as spam.
What it includes
Section titled “What it includes”Items the customer saved at least Days after the save ago that are:
- still on one of their lists,
- not bought since: Cove marks a saved product as bought when the same customer orders it (guest checkouts can’t be matched),
- not in an earlier reminder: the same saves are never reminded twice,
- on sale now: the product is active and the saved variant (or, for a product saved without a variant, any variant) is available.
Up to 4 items, newest save first, one per product. Each shows its image, title, variant, current price and a Buy now button. An item whose price fell since it was saved gets a Price dropped badge with the old price struck through (“Was …”). Below the items, View your wishlist opens the shopper’s wishlist page on your store (/apps/wishlist). The footer says why they got it and has an Unsubscribe link.
If none of a customer’s items qualify (nothing on sale, for example), nothing is sent and Cove looks again a day later.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Send wishlist reminders | Turns reminders on for your store. | Off |
| Days after the save | Only items saved at least this many days ago. 1 to 60. | 7 |
| At most one reminder every | Days, per customer: no customer gets more than one reminder in this many days. 7 to 90. | 30 |
| Language | Which language’s subject and intro you are editing: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Dutch. | English |
| Subject | Up to 150 characters. {shop} is replaced with your store name and {product} with the first item’s title. Empty uses the default. |
“Still on your wishlist at {shop}” |
| Intro | Up to 500 characters. Empty uses the default. | “You saved these a little while ago. They’re still here whenever you’re ready.” |
Each customer gets the reminder in their language in Shopify, if it is one of the six; otherwise English. The logo and look are the same as the alert emails: the Logo URL on the Alert emails tab and your Design Studio colours, font and corners.
Below Starter the settings are shown disabled with “Wishlist reminders are on Starter and up”. If you move to a lower plan, reminders stop; you can still switch them off.
Preview and test
Section titled “Preview and test”The preview beside the settings shows the reminder in the selected language with sample items, your store name and currency, and your edits.
Send test reminder sends that preview, with sample items, to your store’s contact email. It shares the limit of 5 test emails an hour with the alert test, and doesn’t count toward your monthly emails.
Monthly limit
Section titled “Monthly limit”Every reminder counts toward your plan’s monthly alert emails, shared with the alert emails (Starter 200, Pro 2,000, Premium 5,000). When the month is used up, reminders wait for the 1st of next month. See Monthly email limits.
Counts
Section titled “Counts”Under the settings: how many customers were reminded in the last 30 days and, when there are any, how many are waiting for next month’s emails. Counts only, never who.
Unsubscribing
Section titled “Unsubscribing”The reminder carries the same one-click unsubscribe as the alert emails. A customer who unsubscribes gets no more reminders and no more alerts about saved items from your store. See Unsubscribe and bounces.
