Wishlist link
Plan: every plan, including Free.
Cove adds a link to the wishlist page on every page of your store, with a badge showing how many items the shopper has saved.
Choose where it goes
Section titled “Choose where it goes”In the Design Studio, under Cards, section Wishlist link and messages:
| Setting | Options | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Wishlist link | Floating button, In the header menu, Hidden | Floating button |
| Floating button corner | Bottom right, Bottom left (floating button only) | Bottom right |
| Count badge | Number, Dot | Number |
- Floating button: a round button fixed in a bottom corner of the screen.
- In the header menu: an icon next to your theme’s header icons (cart, account). On Dawn and Horizon it finds them by itself. For other themes, see Header icons selector.
- Hidden: no link from Cove. Add
/apps/wishlistto a menu yourself in Shopify admin under Online Store › Navigation.
The icon comes from Button. The link’s name for screen readers is “Wishlist” followed by the count; change the word in Design › Labels (Wishlist name).
Theme editor settings
Section titled “Theme editor settings”In App embeds › Cove Wishlist › Wishlist link:
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Show the wishlist link | Turn off to hide Cove’s link entirely, whatever the Design Studio says. | On |
| Header icons selector | Where “In the header menu” puts the link, for themes other than Dawn and Horizon. | Empty |
| Wishlist page URL | Optional. A page on your store, starting with /, for the link to open instead of the Cove wishlist page. |
Empty |
Header icons selector
Section titled “Header icons selector”Left empty, Cove looks for Dawn’s and Horizon’s header icons (.header__icons, header-actions, .header-actions). For another theme, type the CSS selector of the element holding your header icons; Theme compatibility lists the ones we know. If nothing matches, the floating button shows instead, so shoppers always have a way in.
Your own wishlist page
Section titled “Your own wishlist page”Wishlist page URL changes where the wishlist link and the View wishlist link in the save message go, for example /pages/wishlist. It must be a path on your own store, starting with a single /; anything else (another site, a full URL) is ignored and the Cove page is used. Cove’s own requests always go to its app proxy (/apps/wishlist), whatever you type here.
The count badge
Section titled “The count badge”The badge shows how many products (or variants) the shopper has saved, across all their lists. It is hidden while the count is 0. With Dot, a small dot shows instead of the number.
For a shopper who has never saved anything the badge simply stays hidden: Cove makes no request to find out. See Performance.
Custom elements
Section titled “Custom elements”If your theme or page builder needs the count or a link somewhere Cove’s blocks can’t go, turn on Load custom elements under Advanced in the app embed, then use:
<cove-count></cove-count>: the saved-item count, hidden at 0.<cove-link></cove-link>: a link to the wishlist with the count badge. Put your own text or icon inside it, or leave it empty for the design’s icon.
